Fort Worth Culinary Charreada

Fort Worth Culinary Charreada

Join Foodways Texas and friends in Fort Worth on Sunday, February 20, for a benefit and party to launch Foodways Texas in the Fort Worth area. The Fort Worth Culinary Charreada will be a Sunday evening party with chuckwagons, Mexican dishes and food from favorite local chefs and farmers.

Terry Chandler and other cowboy cooks will offer old-fashioned campfire cooking from their chuckwagons, while Lou Lambert, Lanny Lancarte, Grady Spears, Dena Peterson, Molly McCook, Gerard Thompson, Jerrett Joslin, Gwin Grimes, Paula Lambert and other food geniuses will serve specialties from their Texas repertoire. Rahr Beer, Republic Tequila and Fall Creek Vineyard wines will be poured, and music will include mariachis and country groups. Kids’ activities are planned as well. Foodways Texas founding member and award-winning author Robb Walsh will be on hand, as will Marvin Bendele, Foodways Texas executive director. The two will present sneak-peek screenings of Foodways Texas film projects and talk about the first annual symposium, Gulf Coast Gathering, a celebration of seafood in Galveston, Feb. 25-26.
