Fred's owner and chef Terry Chandler, left, and head cook Angel Mota accepted the plaque honoring Fred's as the judge's champion in DFW.com INK's Battle of the Burgers. Fred's beat out 31 other terrific Dallas-Fort Worth burger joints in a summerlong NCAA-style bracket competition. About 200 people came to Fred's Tuesday night to celebrate, to win DFW.com prizes and, of course, to scarf down the champion Diablo Burger (at a discount!) Congrats to Fred's.
